Module Details

The course aims to introduce the students to the basic principles of scientific terminology of chemical engineering. It must be stressed that it is not a language course, and consequently, an advanced knowledge of the English language is essential for the student to attend the lectures. We will focus on basic terms, e.g. metals, alloys, pumps, water treatment, etc. through selected scientific texts which will be distributed to the students free of charge at the beginning of the semester and we will continue studying through texts concerning thermodynamics, radioactivity, nuclear reaction, etc. By the end of the second semester, a study on academic writing will introduce the students to the writing and resentation of scientific reports or projects according to the principles governing this task.
