Reactor Analysis and Design
This module will not be offered for this semester
Module Details
A good understanding of the operation of basic heterogeneous chemical reactors.
Familiarization with the models which have been proposed for the simulation of catalytic reactors and their basic principles.
Knowledge in depth of the basic pseudo-homogeneous model for fixed bed reactors
Ability to understand basic principles of analysis and design of heterogeneous catalytic reactors.
Ability to design fixed bed reactors with simple pseudo-homogeneous models.
Chemical Reaction Engineering I and II
Algorithms for the numerical solution of differential equations
Mass, energy and momentum balances applied to chemical reactors.
Pseudo-homogeneous models of heterogeneous reactors.
Isothermal and adiabatic reactors
Polytropic reactors.
Teaching Organization
LECTURES: 3 h/w
Total Module Workload (ECTS Standards):
Solution of problems all through the semester.
