In the Applied Mathematics Laboratory there is conducted every Monday 15.00-18.00 and since 1989 an advanced Course-Seminar, associated with subjects of Mathematical Methods in Science and Technology. The duration of the developed subjects is usually annual and their content is decided every year by the attenders, which vary between 10 and 16 persons. The participants are mainly Professors and Lecturers from the School of Natural Sciences and the School of Engineering, but also postgraduate students. Indicatively, the presented subjects until now refer to: Wave Propagation, Acoustics, Electromagnetics, Elasticity, Thermoelasticity, Magnetoelasticity, Scattering Theory, Asymptotic Analysis, Theory of Tensor Differential Operators, Stokes Flows, Techniques of Medical Imaging, Mathematical Analysis of the Problem of Electroencephalography and Magnetoencephalography, Models of Avascular Tumour Growth, Generalized Theory of Integral Transforms, Integrable Equations and Lax Pairs, Fractional Analysis, Singularity Theory, but also Quantitative Methods of Partial Differential Equations.
After the retirement of Professor George Dassios, the Laboratory of Applied Mathematics is supervised nowadays by the Assistant Professor Panayiotis Vafeas.
